I Did not Buy Fabric

That's correct.

I did not buy fabric.

Do not let the 2.5-yard, 60-inches wide, sale-priced, micro-fiber fleece fool you.

It's not just any fabric.

It's a blanket.

In my updated guest room.

See?

Re-arranged the Sewing Room

BEFORE pictures, showing that the cutting table is in the room next to the kitchen:

See how it juts out from the wall of rulers, really far into the walkway from the kitchen to the garage:

The rolling carts are lined up under the window area:

AFTER pictures show that the cutting table juts out from the kitchen peninsula:

This gives a wider walkway from the kitchen to the garage:

The window area was cleared out a bit for the wider walkway.  The teal fabric is from a recent project, which I hope to reveal soon:

This picture hints at two other, recent projects - wash cloths and pillow cases:

Non-sewing-related is this picture of my recent, home-done manicure.  In some lights it shows as purple, but in others it's more like a cobalt blue:

Rearranged Stuff, etc. (picture heavy)

I have "after" pictures because I forgot to take "before" pictures.  Isn't that just how it goes sometimes?

There was a row of rolling storage carts in the sewing room, but they were piled with junk.  There was a row of boxes and containers in the cutting room, likewise piled high with stuff.  Yesterday afternoon I cleared off these piles and swapped the row of boxes with the row of storage carts.  Here's how it now looks:
Ah, yes, I did manage to do one other sewing-related thing over the weekend.  I organized and scanned the fronts and backs of 82 patterns I no longer need.  They are for sale in the Classified section at Pattern Review.  If you cannot see my listings (at lower left on the site), please let me know.  Of course, what would a little reorganization be without finding more fabric that I don't need?  I may have to list it on ebay; if so, I will let you know.

I also "got" to help DH while he prepped, primed, and painted parts of the exterior of the house.  Here are some pictures which include the use of boards to stabilize the step ladder, and the addition of another board to the top of the ladder on which to rest the paint tray:

Working on the Sewing Room

I have done no sewing for several weeks now.

We have lots of pictures - family and other types - which sat for many months on the floor, leaning against a book case and an armoire.  We recently hung most of them on walls throughout the house.  That task alone almost instantly made this house feel much more like a home.

I also had help hanging my sewing rulers over the cutting table.  Click on the picture to see three photos of the wall in my sewing room:

Messy Room as Inspiration

My sewing room is so messy that when I saw BeanGirl's so-called messy room, I knew I could do better without even trying. As it turns out, my sewing room is so messy, that it can only get better. What better inspiration than to show how messy it is now, and show it cleaned up later.
