Yes, more patterns for sale

Will you buy some patterns from me?

I have been selling my patterns on Facebook and at PatternReview.  I am really trying to clean out my patterns, so I added more.  These are mostly "Big Four" patterns (Butterick, McCall's, Simplicity, and Vogue), plus a few Kwik Sew patterns.

They have been selling like hotcakes, and there are about 75 left.

The listing is on the Patterns for Sale tab above, or you can click here.

After I get these sold, I will start listing patterns from other companies, unless I decide to clean out my fabric stash.

Will you help me?

More sewing patterns for sale

I have cleaned out my sewing patterns and have added lots and lots more patterns for sale.  I even have a few non-clothing sewing patterns for sale.

I also have a new price structure:

$2 for large size patterns and Out-Of-Print patterns.
$1 for all other patterns.
Minimum order is $3.

I will still only send to USA only and accept PayPal only.

Go have a look here.

...and Thanks for Looking!

More Sewing Patterns for Sale

I finally finished scanning all the patterns I have for sale.

I originally had my pattern sales sorted by company and current versus out-of-print status (click here).  That was so confusing, even to a techie like me

I also implemented simpler pricing.  Patterns are a fixed price, which includes shipping to USA, with no quantity discounts.  Only paypal is accepted.

My patterns are all listed in Picasa web albums, so you can view many patterns at one time.

Pattern sales are so easy with only two categories:  Current patterns and out-of-print patterns.

Current patterns ($3.00) are for sale here.

Out of print patterns ($4.00) are for sale here.

If you are looking for some patterns, please look at the patterns I have for sale.

If you don't see what you want, please tell me what you're looking for - I just might have it!

For all inquiries, please contact me via my profile.

My Notches Technique

I just saw a blog post about notches.

There are many ways to mark and cut notches - except that I do not cut notches

I cut the notch in on the pattern.

I cut straight across the fabric, straight across the notch.

I mark the fabric with permanent marker right in the middle of the pattern's indented notch.

Here are some examples of notches I've used.  I try to mark the fabric with a pen color that will contrast with the fabric.

Most pictures will get bigger when you click them:

Have you tried this method with pattern notches?

Do you have a special trick for notches?

Updating "the list"

I have finally updated the list of Big Men's Patterns.

This list is connected to the tab above labeled "Big Men's Patterns."

Duh

I hope you find this list useful.

Udating blog

I am adding the list of big men's patterns which I had been keeping on my old web site for a long, long time.

This list can be found on the tab at the top of my blog, just under my blog header.

Please be patient with this effort.  I must verify each and every pattern number and link in the page, which is quite long.  When I get it right, I will share it as a blog post and have the tab link to my post.  That will allow me to add labels, and that will allow more people to find this resource.

It's a lot of work, but I'm looking forward to getting ti done.

Sewing-Related Counting

I have not done any sewing lately, but I have been counting my patterns.

I already logged the current patterns I have for sale (click here).

I went through all my patterns a few weeks ago and set aside - gasp! - more patterns to sell.  I finally got out those boxes and logged all those patterns.  Three or four patterns went back into the "keep" boxes.

During this past week, I went through the boxes of patterns that I'm keeping.  I logged all those patterns and I found at least five patterns that are now in the boxes of patterns that I will sell.

Even though I have not done any sewing for a while, I feel that much was accomplished by all this counting and logging.  Doesn't it feel good to get such a daunting task completed?

Rearranged Stuff, etc. (picture heavy)

I have "after" pictures because I forgot to take "before" pictures.  Isn't that just how it goes sometimes?

There was a row of rolling storage carts in the sewing room, but they were piled with junk.  There was a row of boxes and containers in the cutting room, likewise piled high with stuff.  Yesterday afternoon I cleared off these piles and swapped the row of boxes with the row of storage carts.  Here's how it now looks:
Ah, yes, I did manage to do one other sewing-related thing over the weekend.  I organized and scanned the fronts and backs of 82 patterns I no longer need.  They are for sale in the Classified section at Pattern Review.  If you cannot see my listings (at lower left on the site), please let me know.  Of course, what would a little reorganization be without finding more fabric that I don't need?  I may have to list it on ebay; if so, I will let you know.

I also "got" to help DH while he prepped, primed, and painted parts of the exterior of the house.  Here are some pictures which include the use of boards to stabilize the step ladder, and the addition of another board to the top of the ladder on which to rest the paint tray:

Finding Old Patterns

I am usually MIA right before doing taxes. We owed a little bit this year, so I waited until the last minute to file and pay. Now I'm back!

I have been wondering about the early patterns I sewed. All sewing stuff left at my folks' house have been duly donated to worthy causes over the years, but I still remember some of the garments. I've been most curious about that V-yoked skirt I made in hunter green mini-corduroy.

Well, wonder no more! I finally opened an email from Pattern Rescue, started poking around by clicking the "Still Hoping" link because it had been so long since I made it. Oh, my -- there it was! I probably made the short version without the fabric tie or belt carriers.

I don't need it now, of course, but I'm glad to be able to identify it.

Finished sewing the ugly things

I went to Joann's, got the elastic, and finished the things. I will post a review soon. They are made from the Kwik Sew 2467 pattern, using a cheap lycra knit I got on ebay a while ago.

Progressing in Baby Steps

Today I reorganized my sewing patterns. Three cardboard boxes contain about half of my patterns. My Stretch & Sew patterns are in the top drawer next to my sewing machine, and the rest are not over-crowded in the white cabinet.

I did my data backups today, too. I backed up all the money and taxes information on one CD, and all my web site stuff on another CD. I feel better already!

One More Sewing Resolution

I have one more sewing resolution to add. I may regret it soon, but here goes:

I plan to NOT buy more fabric this year. That's easy - I have too much already.

Patterns? Now, that's another story. Here's a pattern that I don't have. I NEED this pattern - Simplicity 2933 - since I discovered that this type of yoke looks good on me:
