I would like to introduce you to a blogger on my Blog Roll.
Erica B - DIY Style!
I found her at PatternReview a while back.
Erica has an angelic face to counter her edgy style.
This skirt looks great!
I just love this purple dress - my favorite color!
When she copies an outfit she's seen, I believe that hers is ALWAYS BETTER. Here's a sample inspiration:
... and here is her version, which is So Much Better - don't you agree?
She was recently added as an original member of the Mood Sewing Network:
Can you believe she has daughters who are nearly grown up?
Here's another darling daughter:
I hope you will visit Erica's blog and be inspired by her creativity and sense of style!

Blog Commenting Award
I received this blog award today from BeaJay who writes the blog "On the Road to Sew Wear."
Is this cool or what?
I love to share my sewing journey, some sewing tips, and parts of my life.
It's interesting to see who is paying attention! Reading comments is also a way to learn about other bloggers.
This award is to thank the people who take the time to leave a comment on your posts. It is always great to receive comments from fellow sewists.
I've been known to lean from readers who comment on my blog.
Here's "the deal" about this "award" -
Judith
SewIknit2
CoCo
glorm
Laura and Hans
Carolyn
Jane M
prttynpnk
Diana
Thank you all so much for caring and commenting on my blog. Your comments are all appreciated!
You know you ALL ROCK!
PS: Like several others, I have linked to the commenters' blogs. I do not think this is a requirement of the "award." In passing these on, I think a simple list works just as well. In fact, if I've linked to you and you don't want me to link to you, please let me know.

" There is no requirement to do anything like list stuff about yourself, just to pass it on to the last nine bloggers to comment on your blog...So I'm interpreting that, rightly or wrongly, as the first nine on my previous post, not counting the ladies who passed it on to me. "

A Peek at my BlogRoll - September 2012
I would like to introduce you to a fellow (?) Florida blgger on my Blog Roll:
Stitches and Seams - Miscellaneous Musings on an Obsession ... and other things that get in the way.
I met Debbie Cook when we were both members of a local Pattern Master Boutique (PMB) user group, which I'm pretty sure was before 2006. She also appears on a popular sewing web site called Pattern Review.
My favorite part of her blog is the tutorials (click here). Her tutorials are grouped by Projects, Techniques, and Alterations. She has several alterations tutorials for full bust alteration, aka FBA - all useful! Really, ALL her tutorials are useful, so give them a try.
The napkin holder I made (click here) was inspired by her tutorial to copy some IKEA bins (click here).
Debbie has blogged mostly about sewing, but sometimes real life intervenes. For example, she recently finished her first year in the most awesome job ever!
She shares with her readers whenever she buys shoes, or fabric, or even moves house with lovely Florida plants:
Debbie seems to make lots of clothes. When she makes herself a new dress, she shares portions of its creation, and then - of course - the wearing thereof:
The same is true for tops and skirts:
I hope you will visit Debbie's blog and find great enjoyment from it.

A Peek at My BlogRoll - August 2012
I would like to introduce you to a blgger on my Blog Roll:
Sewspicious Minds - Sewing is one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy sewing with current and retro clothing patterns.
I found her at Pattern Review a long time ago. Her internet name is Heatherrique, but her real first name is Louella. She's a teacher - when she's not sewing, that is.
Many of her blog posts read like rewritten golden oldies:
Surfing Sew-Fari
The Fifth Dimension
A New Ten-sation
Clover and Over
Frock-sy Lady
Just Pleat It, Pleat It
Aside from her oh-so-cool way with words, she makes really nice clothes!
She often makes something similar for her daughter, too!
I hope you will visit her blog!

A Peek at my BlogRoll - July 2012
I would like to introduce you to a blgger on my Blog Roll:
There She Sews - Sewing and Craft Projects that have emerged from the cluttered chaos that is Welmoed's sewing room.
Of all the bloggers out there, I've been aware of this lady the longest. I have used Wild Ginger's PatternMaster Boutique (PMB) on and off for a very long time, and I joined the current version of the PMB online forum just one day after she did (7/20/05 and 7/21/05). She's still active in the PMB forum, too!
She recently did a tutorial for pockets that reside between princess seams, and showed her methods using her PMB skills (click here for the tutorial):
Who else can make a work shirt that is so stylish?!
She's the only person I know who lives in a castle, and has an old ballroom for a sewing room. This is not the most current view but she's still a lucky lady!
Her sewing accomplishments include gowns she wears to the annual Smithsonian balls (with lots of pictures of other well-dressed attendees):
She also makes some pretty cool costumes for her daughter to wear to Otakon (although she has been known to dress up, too):
When I see "There She Sews" in my RSS reader, I get excited to see what she has done. I hope you will follow her, too!

A Peek at my BlogRoll - June 2012
I would like to introduce you to a blogger on my BlogRoll:
CoCo's Loft - Sharing the style and craft of sewing. quilting, and knitting
Coco shows how to wear Florida casual - sunny side up or sunny side down!
She also does a great job of making Florida casual garments (after reading this review, I bought the pattern):
She sometimes shares a "how I did it" moment (article here):
I just love her garden, which is quite the tropical oasis (more loveliness here):
I believe I found her blog when I was looking for reviews of a pattern I'm considering. She's made it at least three times. She wrote on her blog about the Serendipity Studios Kimono dress (link here).
I feel a kinship with fellow Floridians, and I hope to feature another one in the near future!

A Peek at my BlogRoll - May 2012
I would like to introduce you to a blogger on my BlogRoll:
MushyWear - Sewing Surrounded by Salt Water
Shannon shows how to dress Hawaiian casual, and she does it well. I am partial to red and purple, by the way.
She always has a smile on her face.
Sometimes she makes things and gives them away. Woo Hoo!
Everything she does has happy colors! I'd be happy, too, if I lived in paradise!
Shannon also has an etsy shop where she sells the purses she makes.
I like the key-hole back paired with the tropical print!

A Peek at my BlogRoll
I would like to introduce you to a blogger on my BlogRoll:
Mimi G - DIY Fashiion and Style
Mimi often shows what she wears, and she is one stylin' chick!
She also tells how to make some of her clothes. Here's a recent tutorial (click here).
Today she has a drawing to win a sewing machine (click here). I'm entering this drawing. One can never have too many sewing machines!

Working on my Blog
I have been wanting to work on my tutorials section, starting with the tote bag instructions. The tote bag instructions are currently just the comments under the pictures (look here). I want to finesse the instructions and share them with you.
Today, I started by listing the supplies needed for the tote bag project. I have saved the instruction page as a draft so that I can work on it just a bit each day.
Another thing I've been wanting to do is place a link to iherb in the right side of my blog. I finally figured it out. I added the Picture gadget, which allowed me to assign it a link. Yaayy!
Thanks for reading!

Housekeeping, but not of the House
I took a lot of pictures while I was working on my skirt and sewing my new bed sheets on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday evenings I made sure the bed sheet pictures all had "good" captions and that they are in the correct order in my Picasa web album. I will eventually make a tutorial so that you can make bed sheets, too!
Tonight I tweaked the layout of my blog and cleaned up my blogroll. I had to remove a couple blogs that no longer exist, and I added a couple, including Male Pattern Boldness. I cannot believe that Peter's blog was not appearing on my web site! I will try to be more conscious of this as Itrudge read through Google reader every night!
I also made sure that I offer three ways to follow my blog: follow, subscribe with RSS feed, and email. I just noticed that I need to remove a duplicate list of recent blog posts. After that, I might be done with tweaking for a while.
If you see a blog feature that you think I should have, please let me know. I'm always open to suggestions.
Thanks!
