I told you recently that the pattern I made for my skirt will not fit the fabric - ON GRAIN:
Instead of trumpet-shaped pattern pieces, this skirt will be made with blocks and triangles. The sewing terms are panels and godets. The panels for my skirt will be rectangles, and the godets will be wedges with curved bottom edges. My panels will not have darts, but my godets will be drafted as shown on this page.
Meanwhile, we've been enjoying the new motorcycle:
I will show the next steps of my skirt soon.

Some Progress
My pattern sales have been going well. Not awesome, but well!
Click this sentence to see previous post about the patterns I have for sale.
I had a little progress on my gift-making.
I bought one yard each of royal blue and bright red light-weight fleece on sale a few weeks ago to make gifts for my parents.
For my Dad, I am making short fleece socks, as shown at the left of this pattern. He will get one red pair and one blue pair.
For my Mom, I am making dickies based on the collar shown at the upper right of this pattern. She will get one in red and one in blue.
Last night I cut out all the blue pieces.
Here's a reminder how I mark notches:
Here are the sock pieces (in the middle) and the other blue pieces:
Here are the blue pieces pinned together for the first batch of stitching:
That's pretty much all I got done last night.

What I Wear with the Purple Thrifted Skirt
I have the penultimate excuse for not sewing. It's called "other people's stuff on my sewing table"
I really like this long purple skirt in a stable knit. I found it at a thrift store a few years ago. When it's colder outside, I wear a long-sleeved shirt with it:
When it's warmer out, I wear one of these tops -- sleeveless, tank, or short sleeves. The sleeveless top was on sale at W*M, the tank top was bought at the flea market, and the short-sleeved top was found at a thrift store:
The tank top is not enough coverage for work, so I wear a slinky knit jacket (purchased several years ago) over it:
I don't wear bracelets or necklaces, but I do have some new earrings that go well with these clothes. Click on the picture to see how I made the earring hanger:
I'm thinking of getting the pattern called Pamela's Patterns Magic Pencil skirt for future use - specifically the dark purple ottoman knit fabric. I "think" it's enough to make another narrow skirt, if this one ever wears out! Click here to see the pattern I'm talking about.
More recently, I found another top at the flea marked that I can wear with this skirt. It's a printed slinky knit, and the printed "circles" go really well with my "moon and stars" earrings:
Watch out! I think I'm getting my sewing mojo back! With a little inspiration, my table is being cleared off. No patterns were harmed in the interruption of my sewing mojo:

Sewing Patterns for Sale
Edited to add: My pattern sales have been modified, so the links below no longer work. Here is a post (dated November 1, 2012) which describes the updated list of patterns for sale.
I have cleaned out my sewing patterns, and they are now for sale in the classifieds section of Pattern Review (Look for seller "Mary in FL").
I have cleaned out my sewing patterns, and they are now for sale in the classifieds section of Pattern Review (Look for seller "Mary in FL").
Here are the links to my Picasa photo albums where you can see the patterns that are for sale. All prices are in US Dollars and include shipping to USA addresses only.
If you want to buy one of these patterns, please email me at marysews at gmail dot com - of course, remove the spaces and replace the at with an "at" sign and the dot with an actual dot.
For all the patterns I have for sale, I even have more. I just have to get around to getting them ready to sell. Each pattern must be scanned front and back, which includes making sure the scanner includes the entire picture and rotating the pictures as necessary. Then I have to add each picture to the correct folder in Picasa.
The technical part of this task starts with moving the pattern description to the correct spreadsheet, then verifying the description and adding the sizes to the description. Then I have to copy that information into the listing that will appear in the Pattern Review classified ad. Fortunately, I can do this while the pattern envelopes are being scanned. Thank goodness for multitasking abilities!
Stick around for the next round of pattern sales. Yes, there will be more, and fabric, too!
